BBC RADIO 3 LONDON JAZZ FESTIVAL
It's been an amazing privilege to work on this years BBC Radio 3 London Jazz Festival. After winning a five way pitch at the beginning of this year IWANT have designed the branding and full marketing campaign for one of the largest contemporary music festivals in the world. With over 250 shows at more than 50 venues across the capital, running from Fri 13 – Sun 22 November make sure you pick up one of the 100,000 brochures that will be knocking around to check out the full schedule. There's been a plethora of work for Southbank at IWANT recently including the TODAY I AM campaign devised at IWANT that will adorn everything that is Southbank for the next year - plus our One Big Summer guides for Southbank & Bankside.

Above is the installation we created for this years London Dance International. We used the same location and dancer as last year for continuity, and developed upon last years migration theme for the image. The eight page brochure has a die-cut slit in the centre that enables the booklet to fold out fully to an A2 poster. LDI is a series of professional classes that provide advanced level training for dance artists.

BUZZIN' FLY – ALMOST 50
Hell and Christian Prommer's Freak It is the 47th 12" release on Buzzin'Fly Records - released next Month. Below that is the sleeve for 046 BUZZ Southeren Soul by Glimpse & Martin Eyerer, Thenn comes 045BUZZ Spencer Parkers The Beginning followed by Will Saul & Mike Monday's Zippo and L kubic's Voyager at the bottom. We are soon to begin work on Buzzin'Fly Vol 6 and the second full length Mlle Caro & Franck Garcia album.

IWANT were responsible for creating the illustrations and artwork for a new incentive by Columbia Records for recent signing (and IWANT studio faves), Passion Pit. Disposable cameras are to be handed out at Bestival and Latitude music festivals to fans so they can take photographs and share their memories and experiences with others on a dedicated area at the bands website

After five years of planning to bring together the UK's leading promoters of new music this will be the first time the four founding companies, British Music Information Centre (bmic), Contemporary Music Network (CMN), the Society for the Promotion of New Music (spnm) and Sonic Arts Network (SAN), speak to their audience under a new name – Sound and Music. Utilsing the logo created by Research Studios we have designed The First Season brochure including building and phtographing the model for the front cover.

BIRDS EYE VIEW FILM FESTIVAL 2009
March 2009 saw our second year working with Birds Eye View Film Festival. Once again we created the festival identity/branding and all marketing and onsite/onscreen display materials for this high profile film festival that takes place at the BFI and ICA.

Fertilizer Festival
FERTILIZER - VERY GOOD SHIT
As well as the two pitches mentioned above we were also successful in securing the re-branding of the Fertilizer Festival. The expanding festival, whose focus this year is on new music from Poland, commissioned IWANT to create a fresh new identity, full brand guidelines and all marketing materials for this years events. 2009 will see Fertilizer grow from an East London only event to a national tour as well as taking the event to it's native country of focus for the first time.

We have had some nice press recently including EYE magazine's (issue 72) feature Designers as Illustrators that focuses on the work of '...eight leading practices'! A Grafik showcase (issue 175) featuring our work for Sound and Music's The First Season brochure, and a 4 page feature in the Craft Issue (issue 16.1) of international design journal iDN including an interview with IWANTs John Gilsenan.

Manchester International Festival, the world’s first festival of original, new work and special events approached IWANT to help contextualise existing images and typography for songwriter Rufus Wainwrights debut opera Prima Donna.

LWT commissioned IWANT to re-think and redesign their existing, very dated, free events and volunteering publicity material. Above are the illustrations we created that make up the covers of the brochure and poster. The eight page brochure, printed on heavyweight uncoated recycled paper, doubled as an A2 psoter.

South Bank
SOUTH BANK EMPLOYERS GROUP
South Bank Employers Group is the partnership of venues and major organisations of the South Bank, Waterloo and Blackfriars in London. Over recent years they have helped transform the face of the South Bank and late in 2008 approached IWANT to help refresh existing marketing materials including their event posters (illustration pictured above). We are currently working closely with their marketing team to realise several projects for a new awareness drive that will run throughout the rest of the year.

SOUND UK - MATTHEW BOURNE
the continuation of our fruitful association with contemporary music promoters and PR Consultancy SOUND UK has seen several exciting projects realised this year already. The best of which has been Matthew Bourne's Songs From a Lost Piano. IWANT illustrated and designed all marketing and publicity material for the tour in which Bourne brought old forgotten pianos back to life with new compositions.

The beginning of 2009 has seen two more single releases from The SCRIPTs multi-platinum selling debut album. Breakeven & Talk You Down designed and illustrated by IWANT.

Some other projects of note have been a series of patterns IWANT have designed for Japanese fashion label BMDI-REDCLOVER and an illustration commissioned by Random House for a new edition of Salman Rushdie's Booker Prize winning Midnight's Children.
